Jersey

It is claimed to be the warmest part of the United Kingdom.  In fact, Jersey is a lot closer to France, which probably explains its sunnier climes.

We decided to venture somewhere closer to home, yet still have an inkling of being away.  The flight to Jersey took just over an hour and our car hire was ready for us when we arrived.

Jersey is a small island on the Channel Islands, but you still need a car to get around.  From the main town of St Helier, where our accomodation was based, to around the coastal roads of the island, Jersey is ideal for a short break.

The roads are small and narrow but there are plenty of things to see.  There is also a great number of top quality restaurants.  We followed some of the recommendations and found ourselves enjoying some the best dishes we’ve ever had.
